i am afraid of revolving doors.

update: while the theories and delving into people's fears were interesting, my fear of revolving doors is this:

i am afraid that my last foot out the door (usually my right because although i'm right-handed i've got touches of ambidextrousness, and i lead with my left foot) will get caught in the door and that there will be enough pressure to shatter my 2 ankle bones. because of the physics involved, these bones are unlikely to shatter, but it's an irrational fear.

sort of like my fear of falling down stairs. that's not so irrational though, i usually take a header down the stairs somewhat spectacularly and in public once a year or so.

  • that would be WAY funnier than my actual fear is. unless it really happened, then it'd be MUCH SCARIER than the actual fear.

  • theory on the revolving door situation...as a child (or possibly an adult as this could realistically happen at anytime) a gang of monkey bandits trapped you between doors for hours pointing, laughing, and generally taunting you with evil bananas

  • Completely unrelated to revolving doors.... I-Tunes thought it was time for me to listen to "ain't no sunshine when she's gone," and it's raining in Denver, and Heather is still gone.

    sniff, sniff.

    Miss you, H-dog!

  • Ouch! Shattered bones - no good! Thankfully, all the revolving doors I've come across have a non-revolving counterpart to the left or right of them. So you should be just fine! :)

  • yeah, but who wants to be the dork who's afraid of the revolving door and has to use the hinged door that says "please use revolving doors."
